Who We Are and What We Do

The motto of Middlesex Kiwanis, as part of Kiwanis International, is “serving children of the world”. In Middlesex, we do this by running service projects, providing scholarships, supporting teachers, and cooperating with other agencies that help children.

Our service projects include preparing weekend food for kids through Backpack Buddies, wrapping Christmas gifts for Christmas Friends, cleaning trails at the Maritime Museum, providing food for the library carnival and many other events, cleaning the highways, helping maintain playgrounds and ball fields, and so much more. We also make it possible for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to benefit the children of Middlesex County; this program provides one book per month from birth to five years old.

How do we do it?

First and foremost, any successful club needs a strong membership base. We are about 60 members strong! We hold two major fundraisers that help us reach our goal of serving children. They are an oyster tent at the Urbanna Oyster Festival and a spring fundraiser with a silent auction, dinner, and dancing.

Our membership includes people from all over our community. It includes young workers, school employees, retirees, bankers, and more.
